We’d suggest at least a three- to four-hour class OR a full-day class for this offering this as a half-day class, we recommend that students plan to make just one bag (perhaps the Small or Medium) and that they come to class with their fabric quilted and everything cut out for their project. So, they should complete all of step I. Cut and Quilt on pages 2 and 3 before coming to Bags 2.0 is a great class for beginning sewists. For beginners, we recommend teaching this as a full-day class so that you will have time to cover all this basics. As they make this simple project bag, students will learn skills for rotary cutting, quilting, piecing, making a simple interfaced handle, working with vinyl, inserting a zipper, attaching borders, and attaching a mitered NOTE TO TEACHERS:While the outer dimensions have stayed the same, we have changed some of the dimensions of the pieces on the front of these Project Bags. We have also added linings on pieces, including the zipper you teach classes and have students working from both the original and the 2.0 patterns, remind students to carefully follow the cutting. marking, and assembly instructions in the pattern which they are students are working from the original pattern, we do suggest that they add fusible interfacing (and linings if they have sufficient fabric) to the zipper strips and border strips as directed in the new pattern. Understitching the border pieces as directed in the new pattern is also very helpful, so we suggest that they incorporate that change in their -on Video notice: There is an Add-on Video(TM) available for this pattern. The Add-on Video(TM) is specially designed to support specific parts of the pattern and help the customer learn our best techniques.
