Desert Jewels is a collection of 20 different applique blocks inspired by vintage turquoise and silver jewelry. I have enjoyed collecting many beautiful pieces over the create intricate patterns using pieces of turquoise and silver. I wanted to create a project that paid homage to the history and the artist while honoring the beauty of the turquoise stone. The turquoise stone is said to be a source of positive energy, balance and harmony, even providing protection and good fortune. WHO-DJ-SQSP
